ABSTRACT:
A method of forming an abutment post and securing it to an implant in prosthodontic restorations wherein a post part is applied to a collar part and the parts are rotated relative to each other into a desired position where they are fixed together. The fixed parts are then used to form a one-piece abutment post such as by molding when the parts are made from a resin material. The one-piece abutment post is secured relative to an implant in patient's mouth to form a body for a crown or coping. An adaptor between the post and the implant can be used to adapt the post to various types and sizes of implants.
