ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a circular knitting machine and a method carried out thereon for kniting patterned knitwear with a plurality of yarns. So that it is also possible to make patterns in which any yarns (25) are not worked by a plurality of adjacent needles (12), the floats (26) resulting therefrom are parted from inside the needle circle (10a) and the yarn ends (28) thereby resulting on the side of the associated yarn guide (24) are constantly retained in the capture region of the needles (12) selectable by the selector device for yarn reception. The patterning can thus be effected solely with the aid of the selector devices. Yarn change devices or ring guide bars are not needed (FIG. 2).
