ABSTRACT:
Flame retardant compositions are prepared from rubber-modified polyphenylene ether resins and a phosphine oxide of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, carboxyalkyl, phenyl, halophenyl, and alkoxyphenyl, and R' is hydrogen, alkyl, omega-cyanoalkyl, benzyl, alkylbenzyl and hydroxyalkyl.
