ABSTRACT:
A process for separating sulfonic acids from the reaction product obtained by reacting paraffins with sulfuric acids, oxygen and water in the presence of ultra-violet light where an alcohol is used as an extractant.
The reaction product is treated with an aromatic alcohol as the extractant where the general formula of the alcohol is: ##STR1## wherein: R.sup.1 is a phenyl group possibly substituted by halogen atoms and/or alkyl groups with 1 to 6 C atoms;
