ABSTRACT:
Alkoxybenzophenones of the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are each hydrogen, hydroxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or halogen, are prepared by reacting a benzophenone of the formula (II) ##STR2## with a dialkyl sulfate of the formula (III)
