ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic emulsion comprises silver halide grains to which an iridium compound was added during a preparation process. At least 5% by number of said silver halide grains have at least one intrafacial epitaxy limited in the neighborhood of the corners of a major plane of the grain, and the thickness of said epitaxy is 0.1 .mu.m or less.
