ABSTRACT:
A composition is reported that includes an elastase inhibitor in a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable carrier, the inhibitor being at least one benzisothiazolinone-1-dioxide derivative having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom and R.sup.2 is a monovalent C.sub.12 -C.sub.20 alkyl or alkenyl group.
