ABSTRACT:
A novel method for preparing soluble ##STR1## by reaction of palladium metal with a carboxylic acid of the formula RCOOH wherein R is a hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the presence of a member selected from the group consisting of A. HNO.sub.3 plus NO, B. HNO.sub.2, C. nitric oxide plus oxygen, D. nitric oxide plus nitrogen dioxide, E. nitrogen dioxide, and F. nitrosyl acetate, is described.
