ABSTRACT:
The process for the production of the carboxylic acid chlorides of the aromatic nitrogen heterocycles of the series of the compounds of the general formulas: ##STR1## The hydroxy carboxylic acids of the aromatic nitrogen heterocycles from the series of the compounds of the general formulas: ##STR2## In the general formulas I to VI, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are the same or different and each is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom. The chlorination is performed with a solution of phosphorous pentachloride in phosphoroxy chloride. The excess phosphorous pentachloride is converted into phosphoroxy chloride either with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -carboxylic acid or with a silane of the general formula:
