ABSTRACT:
Toy apparatus for simulating hunting or battle comprises one or more target figures, such as an animal. The target figure is made of relatively hard material and is provided with at least one cavity extending to the surface of the figure, preferably located where on the animal simulated there is no protective bone or plate structure, such as the abdomen, neck, etc. A soft clay-like or putty-like substance is in the cavity. A weapon such as a toy spear, sword, etc. upon striking the soft material, will penetrate into and remain in it until withdrawn. A human-like hunter figure may also be provided, releasably carrying a spear or other penetrating weapon. Other figures may be provided, of various existing, non-existing, and fanciful animal or other targets, and corresponding hunter figures; there may be provided plural human or human-like figures, with both soft substance-filled cavities and a penetrating simulated weapon.
