ABSTRACT:
An organic electroluminescent device including an anode, an organic luminescent layer adjacent to the anode, a cathode interface layer adjacent to the organic luminescent layer and a cathode adjacent to the cathode interface layer. The cathode interface layer includes at least one compound selected from a halide of a metal of Group 3A of the Periodic Table, a halide of a metal of the lanthanide series of the Periodic Table, and a complex halide compound of at least two metal elements.
