ABSTRACT:
Novel substituted tetrahydroquinoline compounds of the formula I ##STR1## are described, in which R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-18 alkyl or together with R.sub.8 1,4-butylene, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, independently of one another, are C.sub.1-18 alkyl, phenyl or phenyl-C.sub.1-4 alkyl or together tetra-, penta- or hexamethylene, R.sub.4 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, C.sub.1-24 alkyl or a group of the formula --O--R.sub.5, R.sub.5 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-18 alkyl or benzyl, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7, independently of one another, are hydrogen, C.sub.1-18 alkyl, C.sub.2-18 alkyl which is interrupted by --S-- or --O--, or are phenyl or phenyl-C.sub.1-4 alkyl or together C.sub.4-11 alkylene, R.sub.8 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-18 alkyl or together with R.sub.1 1,4-butylene, and n is 1,2 or 3. The compounds are suitable as stabilisers, in particular as antioxidants for organic materials.
