ABSTRACT:
The invention provides an isoparaffin:olefin alkylation catalyst composition comprising at least one acid selected from the group consisting of hydrofluoric acid and the halogen-substituted sulfonic acids, together with a carbonate additive having the formula ROC(O)OR or ##STR1## wherein R is selected from alkyl, alkyl halide, aromatic and halogenated aromatic groups having from about 1 to about 30 carbon atoms, and an isoparaffin:olefin alkylation process employing the same.
