ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of 2-chloro-5-amino-methyl-pyridine of the formula ##STR1## comprising reacting 2-chloro-5-chloromethyl-pyridine of the formula ##STR2## with excess ammonia, optionally in the presence of a diluent, at a temperature between about -50.degree. C. and +50.degree. C.
