ABSTRACT:
A pressure- or heat-sensitive recording material which contains as color former at least one chromano compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1, X.sub.2, Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2, each independently of the other, represent the group of the formula ##STR2## in which V.sub.1 and V.sub.2, each independently of the other, represent hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, and
