ABSTRACT:
The decarburization reaction which occurs in the production of an electrical steel sheet is quantitatively detected by passing an electromagnetic wave beam into the vicinity of the sheet, which is positioned in an annealing furnace, and then measuring the absorption amount of the electromagnetic wave beam, which is absorbed by water vapor in the vicinity of the steel sheet and/or by CO gas formed due to the reaction between the water vapor and the steel sheet.
