ABSTRACT:
Improved three-way catalysts for use in converting the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines include ceria supported by an alumina or other metal oxide and the ceria in the freshly prepared catalysts is in the form of crystallites having a size less than 50 .ANG. as measured by X-ray diffraction.
