Carol, what a great post, and a beautiful contuer as well! And I love the way you put it, how ideas can't be viewed directly, but instead seen peripherally. I'd never thought of it that way, but that really hits it on the head. I spent a good part of today down at the boatyard working on the boat, and I found it amusing to explain to people that working on the boat *is* writing it's where I get my best writing done even if I'm not at the keyboard. Maybe it's just the varnish vapor buzz, but either way my brain does some great wandering!
