ABSTRACT:
A process for photopolymerization of vinyl compounds and of photopolymerizable materials containing vinyl compounds which is especially useful for dental materials, and compositions useful in said process and the product of said process. The process utilizes a photosensitizer of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from CO, C(R.sup.1)(R.sup.2) or C(R.sup.3)(OR.sup.4), R.sup.1,R.sup.2,R.sup.3,R.sup.4 is selected from hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical;
