ABSTRACT:
A process for simultaneously producing carbon black and hydrogen, wherein ethylene is fed into a reaction system having a temperature of 400.degree. C. or above and a pressure of not less than 5 kg/cm.sup.2 in an inert atmosphere in the presence of a nickel catalyst to decompose ethylene according to the following formula:
